We are down to the final six and the queens started the episode by acknowledging Lydia B. Kollins’ kind mirror message. Everyone seemed upset that she had been eliminated, unlike the week before.
At this point, everyone but Lana Ja’rae had won a challenge, but Onya Nurve was the first to enter the three wins club! Of course, some drama occurred following the question, “Who should go home this week?” They seemed to have fun with it, though. No one was mad for long.
It was a new day in the workroom and Lana and Jewels Sparkles entered with a silly little car for children. We didn’t get to enjoy it for long, because RuPaul entered immediately to tell the queens to pair up with the queen in the competition who gets them best. Lexi Love teamed up with Onya, which made Sam Star upset, as she is the closest with Lexi in the competition. She ended up paired with Lana, while Suzie Toot teamed up with Jewels.
They had to write fill-in-the-blank bios for them. Suzie’s for Jewels was hilarious, and hers from Jewels was also amazing. My favorite part is how Suzie called Jewels out for spelling cerebral wrong. Lana and Sam did great, as did Onya, but my sweet Lexi struggled to find some jokes in there. She did her best, and she thought it was funny, so that’s all that counts.
For the maxi-challenge, they would be writing and performing in the Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent Monologues. They would write their own monologues based on the prompt they pulled, while their partner from the mini-challenge would tell the story through interpretive dance.
The queens were brainstorming their monologue stories and as a vegan, I was most excited for Onya’s because I had never heard of this whole spiritual vegan thing. Lexi was in her head a bit, and Sam and Lana thought she was trying to steal ideas from them. Sam was worried she was going to get in her head working with the strongest competitor in the group. Oh, yeah, and Jewels got to create the order again, if you recall how that went a few weeks ago. She was ready to get back into everyone’s head with the order.
It was time for the queens to learn the order and practice their performances. Some queens took their interpretive dancing very seriously, while others had fun with it, which would pay off when it came time to perform the challenge. The queens had fun as they got into drag while Onya sang, Lana danced, and Jewels… pantomimed?
On the main stage, Ru was joined by Michelle Visage, TS Madison, and Jerrod Carmichael. The queens would be performing their monologues and dances, followed by showing off their ugliest dress on the runway.
As the performances went, Suzie and Jewels had fun, but they took it a bit too serious. Lexi and Onya were both absolutely hilarious. I loved every moment. Sam and Lana struggled a bit. Though their monologues came from the heart, their interpretive dancing didn’t make Ru laugh, which meant they were in trouble.
On the runway, Suzie, Onya, and Lexi had my favorite ugliest dresses. Lexi made her entire dress herself, Suzie looked like the Christmas decor in your mom’s garage threw up on her, and Onya was a turkey, which I thought was beautiful.
In the end, Lexi and Onya won the challenge, while Lana and Sam fell into the bottom two. They faced off to Illusion by Dua Lipa. Lana absolutely nailed the lip sync, as did Sam, but it was her time to go. The good news was she got to make her “is the bus still running?” joke from Snatch Game, so we should take that as a win.
Next week, the queens will be putting their family members in drag in what is sure to be an episode where I’ll cry. I can’t wait to see you all then!
