Well, we’re back for another season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars, but this season is like nothing we’ve ever seen before. This is the Tournament of All-Stars, which means there are three brackets of six queens. Each Long time no chat! We got two episodes released immediately to Paramount+ for the new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars, our second with the orange bracket. When we last left off, the bottom 4 queens were told they’d each get a point that they could not keep for themselves.
Aja won the challenge and has 3 points, Irene the Alien has 2 points for placing in the top 2. Now, VIQ (Very Important Queen). Bosco, Deja Skye, Phoenix, and Olivia Lux gathered to address who would be getting their points. Bosco and Phoenix thought it would be fair to give each other their extra points so everyone could get on the board. However, Olivia was looking out for her sister and wanted to give her extra point to Aja, which made the other queens a bit unhappy.
Bosco gave her point to Phoenix, which was so sweet! Phoenix returned the favor, giving it to Bosco. Deja gave her point to Olivia, and was worried Olivia wouldn’t return the favor, but she did!
It was the most diplomatic move, but Irene had issues with the “participation point” aspect. However, everyone did a good job and I think it was fair. RuPaul entered the workroom and shared that they were going to play an absolutely wild game for the mini-challenge. They would be rolling a softball down from their belly button to their lips. Phoenix and Irene won and were going to the finals, because of course they had to do it again. It was a close one, but Irene won.
Then, they found out they would be doing improv and without a script, had to come up with character storylines. The theme was murder on the dance floor, where they would have to solve a crime with RuPaul, Carson Kressley, and Michelle Visage. All of the queens picked their characters without fighting which was a pleasant change.
It was fun watching everyone prepare for their characters. I love the friendship blooming between Bosco and Phoenix. However, Olivia and Bosco got in a bit of a spat in the workroom. The best part of this whole thing was Deja spraying hairspray on her wig head that was, you guessed it, wigless. Aja said, “what are you hairspraying?,” and Deja simply said she was being nosy watching the argument. Loved that.
This improv challenge was madness. RuPaul and Carson with the fake mustaches on, Michelle with a bowl cut, and all of the queens really leaning into their characters. Bosco was hilarious, even making RuPaul break in their scene.
It’s only episode 2 and the queens are already struggling within their alliances. Olivia was questioning Aja’s loyalty to her. It was a tough week for Olivia!
On the main stage, Ru was joined by Michelle, Carson, and Colman Domingo. The category was coming and going, one look that looks different when, you guessed it, coming and going. Irene’s take on the category was funny, Olivia looked gorgeous, but my absolute favorite look was Bosco. OMG, so good!
The top 2 all stars of the week were Irene and Bosco. They were looking to impress Ru with a performance to Murder On The Dance Floor by Sophie Ellis-Bextor. I have nothing to say other than Bosco is maybe the most beautiful person in the world? I’m obsessed.
Bosco won the lip sync bringing her total points to 3, giving her 4 overall. Irene got 2 points as well, which boosted her score to 4, making them tied. Don’t forget, there are also MVQ points to dish out next week!
