Austin International Drag Festival Headliner Announcement: Soju

WERRRK.com has proudly partnered up with the Austin International Drag Festival this year and we have been given the privilege of announcing this year’s headliners first! We are so excited about being a part of this amazing event this year and we cannot wait to bring you all the fabulous drag artists that are going to be headlining this year!

Our next headliner is a very familiar face to fans of a little show called RuPaul’s Drag Race. We are very excited to announce that Soju will be headlining the Austin International Drag Festival this year! (Get your tickets here and join us in Austin this fall!)

Congratulations on being named a headliner Soju! How did you get involved with the Austin International Drag Festival and what does this opportunity mean to you?

Thank you! I’ve headlined the event last year and had one of the best experience. I’ve said it on stage last year that Austin Drag Fest feels like a safe space for everyone that loves drag. We celebrate all types of drag and all people. You can truly feel the love without judgment and that’s hard to find these days. When the root of the event is to love and be loved, it’s the best environment to perform in.

For those people living under a rock, can you tell us a little bit about Soju and your drag?

I’m a Korean American Drag Queen. I call myself the Kpop Drag Princess because I like to incorporate my Korean culture to all my art. I have a YouTube show called Shot with Soju where I invite queer artists to tell stories and interview them in a new way. I also throw the biggest Kpop Party called Seoul Train Party. Just like Austin Drag Fest, I invite people of all kind and places to feel safe and enjoy kpop music and entertainment. I’ll be throwing the party on Thursday during this year’s festival!

We can’t wait to see what you’re planning on bringing to the stage in Austin! Can you give the WERRRK .com universe a little tease of what’s to come this fall in Texas?

I’ll be performing my new single Soju Bomb and more! You can download and stream all my music starting Friday!
