Faith Michaels: Senior Key West Correspondent
Born David Gernovich, on August 20, 1974 in Phoenix, AZ, he is now best known as Key West’s very own Superstar, Faith Michaels. While growing up in Phoenix, Faith always had a dream of being Wonder Woman, rather than dating Wonder Woman. He did just that. David chose his name, Faith Michaels, and the rest is history.
Starting in 1997, Faith entered and won her first beauty pageant. This catapulted her into a seven year career performing all around the Arizona drag club scene. After great success in the Grand Canyon State, she took the trip down to Mile Marker 0 and made Key West her home.
Calling Key West home includes performing as part of “The Aquanette’s” at Aqua Night Club. Audiences get a little bit of everything from a Faith Michaels show: comedy, impersonation, rock, disco, and even a little bit of country. She is always engaging and friendly with the audience, which in turn has gained her a wide fan base. One fairy tale that Faith always wanted to come true was to perform her own songs in front of audiences, so she began to pursue a Dance Music career.
Working off the success of her first song, “Fetish”, for which the video went viral and was nominated as a Fan Fave for RightOutTV’s 2011 music-video awards, Faith began performing her own songs in front of audiences, which was the beginning of her fairy tale coming true. The video also won Music Video of the Year in Germany. Faith has since released three more hit songs, “Neva Eva Eva”, “Go Home” and “Kiss”. She looks to keep her streak of hit singles alive as she is currently in the studios, preparing for the release of her fifth song!
