As Winter comes to an end, the stars come out to play. Los Angeles is flooding with concerts. There is always a concert going on! Last year, I basked in the glory of Cher, Cyndi Lauper, Lady Gaga, Robyn, Royksopp, and Zhala! Fortunately its that time of the year again for me to get back out there and cry, scream, and dance with some of my favorite performers! Last night I got the chance to enjoy the sounds of some of the most perfect people in the world… Fleetwood Mac!
Tuesday, April 14th, 2015 at The Forum in Inglewood… a magical event occurred. Fleetwood Mac performed as a band without a single member missing. All of them were there. Lindsey Buckingham, John Mcvie, Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, and the wonderful Christine Mcvie returned! I am a huge Fleetwood Mac fan. Stevie is such an inspiration and I channel her energy and wisdom in all of my work as a fashion designer. Christine’s voice is such a beautiful sound and she is an amazing performer. Lindsey is a guitar god and I can watch him all day. Mick and John are incredible musicians. The band is just amazing.
My girlfriend Kate and I made to the concert only minutes before they came out on stage. They opened with their song “The Chain”. The crowd was on fire, screaming every lyric back as each member came out. Directly following that song, Christine sang “You Make Loving Fun” which is such a beautiful song. I was freaking out. Then it was time for Stevie to show off as she performed “Dreams”… so I was basically dead at this point.
As the concert went on, the songs got even better as the night went on. There was such a positive energy throughout the night. Stevie did an amazing performance of “Rhiannon” which is of course my favorite song of hers. Later on Christine led the band through a performance of “Say You Love Me” which is my favorite Fleetwood Mac song. The stadium lit up the room with these twinkling lights as Stevie gave a chilling performance of “Landslide”. Lindsey rocked out during “Big Love” and “I’m So Afraid” giving a guitar solo to beat all guitar solos. Mick rocked out during “World Turning” and slayed me with a drum solo that must have lasted seven minutes. “Little Lies” was probably one of the best moments of my life. Finally, Stevie brought me to tears with her performance of Gypsy… It was truly beautiful and I couldn’t be any happier seeing Stevie enjoying life and doing what she loves.
Fleetwood Mac was everything I could have hoped for any more. They are not just a simple, they are legends who are not just at the top of the rock industry, but are definitely one of the best bands to ever exist in music. I love each one of them and I can’t wait until the next time I see them.
